We're a small editorial consultancy often asked by our clients (PR and medical communication companies) to undertake transcription projects for them - everything from a single speaker/single presentation, to a 3-day multi-speaker roundtable meeting/conference.  Having had some very unreliable transcriptionists in the past, in 2006 we first commissioned a project to Kelly at Avocado PA. Prior to joining Avocado PA, Maureen worked as my PA for over 10 years and when she left I had reservations about using a "remote service".  However, the advances in technology have allowed us to continue working together as if she was sat in my office, but at much less cost!  Dictation is emailed electronically and comes back just as quickly and as accurately as it always did.  Our telephone system can also be answered remotely when we are all out of the office, which as surveyors often happens.  The voice at the end of the telephone line is friendly, welcoming and known by our longstanding clients.  Even when on site, letters, faxes and emails can be dictated over the telephone to Maureen and sent instantly on our behalf because she has remote access to our Outlook mailboxes.  To summarise, little has changed since Maureen has left us, but our staff overheads have reduced significantly.  The quality of the service we receive, however, remains first class.
